The diary of the console tanker (part 1)
The phenomenon of “tanks” has long been known. A lot of people of all ages plays World of Tanks constantly. I personally know many men 30+ who have the only game over the past 5-10-20 years. And all that they can remember from their game past is “dandy tanks” in the 90s. Of course I knew that the game was made by people who had been working in the industry for a long time and went to success for a very long time. But I always shunned the project, despite the fact that I understood all its significance to popularize games. I also knew that the game is a measure of the Friedela standard. But until recently, it was available only on PC and it stopped me. Later, when Viktor Kisly from the E3 scene announced the release of World of Tanks on the Xbox 360, it became clear that someday the tanks would still overtake me. So it happened, but I had to wait a very long time.
From December 4 to 6, all players were available to the World of Tanks beta test on PlayStation 4. For me, this was the first launch of “tanks” in my life, despite the fact that I saw him a hundred times from behind friends/colleagues/acquaintances.
Having decided not to show off, I immediately went to study, but I was unpleasantly surprised that after choosing a training mode, the game stopped answering the pressing of the buttons, and only restarting the application would return to the game menu. Having tried this approach a couple of times I decided to spit everything and immediately go to battle. I was offered 5 tanks to choose from: 1 for the USSR, 1 for Germany and 3 for the United States. Having decided to pay the debt to the homeland, I immediately chose MS-1 and … almost immediately lost my first battle.
Okay, I decided, we will https://libra-spins.uk/ write off everything for training. For a second battle, an American Locust PS was chosen. Once on the map “Prokhorovka – Night” in a full -fledged team of 15 tanks, I decided not to go on a break and this immediately brought my results. With a score of 15-5 we won. On my account there was a whole 1 frag (!) and 8 punching. Slowly I began to enter the rage.
Next in line for me was the German Ltraktor. Once on mines in a small composition of 7 tanks, the team divided into 2 groups and took the enemy into the ring. Along the way, I decided to check the destruction of the buildings and tried to drive through the barn, but the gates of the building did not succumb to either the forehead or the charge from the large -caliber gun. With a score of 7-2, we again won, and again I managed to take out 1 enemy tank for the battle, but according to the intensity of the battle, it seemed that I personally interrupted half of the enemy platoon.
The next tank was another American – T1. The battle took place in the “provinces” at night, the same amount – 7 to 7. The map was hilly and we had to conduct a shootout with the enemy through the lowland, settling along the edges of the gorge. Nobody wanted to move down, so as not to become a light target for the enemy. Almost the entire battle we walked on a par with the enemy, tearing each other a frag for a frag. But it so happened that at the end of the battle I was left alone against two. Hearing “all allies are destroyed. Hope only for us!“I decided to show the master class, but immediately fell under the cross-shifting fire and did not have time to leave the shelling. We lost, but my personal account did me quite arranged. Moreover, after the battle, I already “pumped” for the Americans enough and tanks of the next level became available to me.
Choosing T2 Medium, and looking at the colorful presentation of the new tank in the Angara, I decided to try out the last “bonus” tank available only on PlayStation 4-American T1E6-PS. The last battle took place on the Khimmelsdorf map and was in 15 to 15 format. This time I got into the team of the same beginners as I and half of my “colleagues” were destroyed in the first two minutes of the battle. Apparently someone went to strong armor, and in the end fell under the cross-bellfire of the enemy. I, leaving under the fire, decided to follow the center of the center on the top to the right. But there was already an ambush. We were destroyed, and only 7 seconds remained before the capture of our base. So the final result was lubricated with annoying defeat.
I still liked it all. Now you just need to wait for the official launch, normally understand management/equipment/weapons and you can go to battle. In any case, I have a great alternative to evening pokatushki in Rocket Legue and kicking the ball in FIFA 16!
P.S. Having played a couple more hours I finally got the first impression. I finally figured out management, distribution of teams to partners and field repair of my own tank. And the percentage of victories has grown significantly. A third of the battles was generally won by the capture of the enemy base, but most likely this is due to a large number of newcomers. As for the general impressions of the game, it seemed to me very “kempernaya”, that is, often I have to sit in “Nichka” for a long time and wait for the enemy to come out on you. And it is also much slower than most multiplayer action, which only positively affects the ease of entering the game. The management at the gamepad was generally excellent and only the distribution of commands can cause any discomfort.
We summarize: tanks are perfectly played on the console, do not scare away the appearance and have unobtrusive monetization. There is no reason for them to not take off on the PlayStation 4. Moreover, with her huge base of “real” players. In addition, unlike the version for Xbox One, the PS Plus subscription is not needed for the game, which means that the player has no reason not to try an excellent and popular game. Suddenly like it?
